Based on the request from Larry, this is a quick lesson on phrases used in telephone conversations in modern standard Arabic:

  • do you have a calling card?

  • what is the toll free?

  • sorry, I didn't understand!

  • Repeat please!

hi, maybe you could put up more telephone phrases? like 'may i speak to...', 'who's that on the line?', 'who would you like to speak to?', etc...

Arabic Telephone phrases

Asalamu Alaikum.. Please could u post the above as per English writing...Am visiting Egypt next month and would like to learn basic Egyptian Arabic ASAP...Shukran. I recently reverted to Islam and am very keen to learn as much as possible...
