Salam HelloHello all My name is Robert and I have just started learning Arabic. I became interested because my muslim friend speaks arabic and I found it very interesting. The name Badr Udeen was given to me by my muslim friend because he tells me I am a better Muslim than him. LOL I am still working that one out.
Any way - I hope to learn a great deal from this site. And well done to the admin for such a great site.
HelloSalaam alikumm,
My name is Jessica and I've been married to a wonderful Egyptian man for the past 3 1/2 years. We have an ornery 2 year old boy who is quickly picking up both of our languages.
I have lived in Egypt (I'm in the States now), and am looking to expand what little I know. I can read and write, but would like to be able to hold a conversation.
Hello!Grandma Wants To Learn! Hi Everybody! I am a retired school teacher (computer applications)and I am interested in learning Arabic to learn more about my world community and neighbors. I live in Ohio, US. I have been married to my husband Joe for 36 years and we have two children and four grandchildren. The youngest is just 3 weeks. My phone is ringing--guess who? The daughter with the 3 week old! I'll catch you later. And wow! What a terrific site! Thank you so much.
Ahlan!Hi Everyone!
My name is April and I'm a 41 year old mother to 3 teens, from the United States. I currently live in North Carolina but I was born and raised in New Jersey. Arabic, Islam and the Middle East as more than a news headline is new for me but I love what I've learned so far. My youngest son and I have knowledge of French and Spanish; my daughter takes Spanish in school and is also teaching herself Japanese and my oldest son is taking German in school, so language is a way of life around here.
This site is the most comprehensive I've found online so please keep up the great work!! I think a great addition would be a section that teaches us how to write as I cannot find anything of the sort online. Something basic along the lines of what a child might use would be great to start with.
I'm excited to see all the great explanations and examples here and having the Egyptian dialect along side the MSA is a great addition too. If possible, you should consider adding other dialects in the same format. I'm currently learning MSA but I know people who speak both Egyptian and Moroccan dialects so I'm anxious to absorb all that I can.
Thanks again for such a great website!!

Ahlan bikum!ana Nuur min finlanda. ana sakin fil Masr...
I searched web for several hours till i finally found what i was looking for. I speak some arabic and my vocabulary is quite good but reading, writing and the horrendeous grammar seems to be mission impossible for me. My egyptian friends have been comforting me with saying that grammar is difficult even for native speakers so i'm not that concerned about it
I believe that this great site helps me much and little by little "maggots and snakes" (as i see the alphabets now) become easily understood writing in my eyes.ahlan wa sahlanahlan yaa Nuur!
welcome to ArEg, I'm happy our website is helping you, I hope that soon you will post here in "maggots and snakes" writing!

learning Egyptian
Hi everyone, I am Toni from the UK and I want to learn Egyptian Arabic. I'd like to know if the download is ok to use for this or is it basic arabic.... and is it ok for learning Egyptian. The reason I ask is because I want to learn Egyptian so I can communiacte with my friends in their language as well as in English as it seems a bit unfair that I cannot understand it. So want to do this but want to get it right. Thanks and salaam
Toni
